Take your fajitas to the next level by sprinkling on this spice!! It is good on either chicken or steak!
Favorite Fajita Seasoning
- 3 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp oregano
- 2 tsp bell pepper powder (see notes)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
In a small bowl combine all the ingredients. Stir well. Store in an airtight container.
When making fajitas use the spice blend to taste. I usually sprinkle 2-3 teaspoons on the veggies while I saute them in a little olive oil. If I’m using steak, I sprinkle on this spice before searing it in a hot cast iron pan. Cook until the internal temperature reaches 135 degrees. Rest for 5 minutes and then cut into thin slices. For chicken, you can either cook the chicken breast whole or cut it into bite-sized pieces before sauteing.
Note: To make bell pepper powder grind dehydrated bell pepper until a powder is formed. I do this in my Vitamix. I take about 3 tablespoons of dehydrated green and red peppers and pulse until a powder is formed. Store any remaining powder in an air-tight container.
