Shepherd’s Pie

This classic comfort food is a favorite of my family (and their friends)! This dinner always makes an appearance on the weekly menu when mashed potatoes are!

Shepherd’s Pie

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1 can green beans, drained
  • 1 16 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 – 1 tbsp harissa paste (optional, but add a little heat that is so good!!)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 1/2 cups cheese

In a large skillet brown ground beef. When almost done, add onions and cook until meat has finished cooking.

Stir in green beans, tomato sauce, garlic powder, and salt and pepper.

Pour into a 9×13 greased cooking pan.

Top the meat mixture with mashed potatoes and spread into a smooth layer. Top with cheese.

Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until bubbly.
