Chocolate Cookie Crumbs (Oreo crumbs)

I recommend making a big batch of these and keeping them in your freezer for two reasons #1 – you’ll find yourself reaching for them for a quick afternoon crunchy chocolate fix and #2 – you never know when you’ll need them for a quick dessert!!
Remember when baking with these – decrease the amount of butter in the recipe since these are made with real butter.

Homemade Oreo crumbs

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup butter, cubed

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line baking sheet with parchment. Set aside.

Combine sugars, flour, cocoa, and salt in a stand mixer or food processor. Add butter and mix unil the mixture resembles crumbs.

Sprinkle crumbs over baking sheet.

Bake for 20 minutes, until lightly browned on top. Cool completely before using.
