Mexican Bread

This is our favorite bread to have with taco or tortilla soup!

Mexican Bread

  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1 1/2 tbsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp salt
  • 2 1/2 tsp taco seasoning
  • 4 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp parsley flakes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 – 3 1/2 cups flour

In a large bowl combine the water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit until foamy, about 5 minutes.

Add the remaining ingredients, except only add 3 cups of the flour. Blend with a dough hook until a soft dough forms and cleans the sides of the bowl, adding additional flour as necessary.

Cover with a towel and let rise for 45 minutes or until double.

Shape and place into a greased loaf pan. Cover and let rise again until double.

Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
