If you have never tried Sourdough Taco Pizza before your Taco Tuesday just got an upgrade. Taco pizza is crazy good and super easy!!
Sourdough Taco Pizza
- 1 batch of sourdough pizza crust (I use this recipe).
- 1 can refried beans
- 1/2 cup salsa
- 3/4 pound hamburger
- 2 tbsp homemade taco seasoning
- 3 cups Mexican blend cheese
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup diced avocado
- 1/2 cup diced purple onions
- Taco sauce (we love Trader Joes Spicy Taco Sauce)
- Sour Cream
Make sourdough pizza crust. This makes two large pizzas, so when assembling, divide the toppings between the two.
In a medium-sized skillet over medium-high heat add the ground beef and cook and crumble until brown. Add taco seasoning and water. Stir until combined. Let it simmer until it starts to thicken, about 3-5 minutes.
In a bowl combine the refried beans and salsa.
To assemble the pizza spread the refried bean mixture on the crust, then top with the seasoned ground beef, and then the cheese.
Return to grill and grill until the cheese is melted and the crust is cooked through. Or you can put it on a pizza stone in your oven on broil for 3-5 minutes until the cheese is nice and brown.
Top with tomatoes, onions, and avocado, and then drizzle with taco sauce.
We let everyone dip their own pizza into sour cream as desired.
