The secret to this delicious popcorn is the kettle corn. Seriously, it makes all the difference!
White Chocolate Popcorn
- 10 cups kettle corn (see notes for recipe)
- 1 1/2 cups white candy melts
- 1/2 cup sea salt-flavored candy melts
- 1/2 cup orange candy melts
- 1/2 cup green candy melts
Place kettle corn into a large bowl.
Put a large sheet of parchment on the counter.
Place white candy melts into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds, then stir. Repeat until fully melted.
Pour over kettle corn and stir until popcorn is well coated.
Pour popcorn onto parchment and spread into a single layer.
Place colored candy melts into three microwave-safe bowls. Working with each one separately, microwave for 30 seconds, then stir. Continue until melted. Pour into a small ziplock bag and seal. Snip one of the corners off and squeeze the candy onto the popcorn in a random pattern. Repeat with the other colors.
When dry break popcorn into bite-sized pieces and enjoy!
Notes:
- To make kettle corn in the Whirlypop. Heat 1/4 cup oil and three popcorn kernels until the kernels pop. Add 1/2 cup unpopped kernels and stir. Wait until you hear the first popcorn pop then immediately add 1/4 cup white sugar and 3/4 tsp. salt, stir constantly! The popping will stop until the sugar heats back up. Continue stirring constantly until the popping starts again and then remove from heat when the popping is about 1-2 seconds apart. Immediately pour into a bowl or large tray to cool.
- You can use any flavor of candy melts – mix it up for different seasons!!
